sea of shoelessness

The weather's getting warmer and life here in Las Vegas is getting exciting again, which is awesome because boy does it get tiring traveling to get to the exciting places.

Dress, vintage.

I welcomed the eighty degree weather yesterday with this secondhand dress. It has a sort of beachy, shipwrecky vibe to it, so I decided to play that up with Urban Decay eyeliner beneath my eyes in Electric, as well as their Pocket Rocket lip gloss in Eric.

Then I went to Crystals and spent probably two hours at Miu Miu, which FINALLY OPENED, and which is so beautiful in person that I got a bit verklempt. It's huge and gorgeous and stocked with so many of the SS10 runway pieces, many of which I tried on. Unfortunately most of the dressing room pictures I took turned out blurry, probably helped along by the champagne they plied me with. I then departed and hit up the coffeeshop at Crystals, where I chattered at the poor barista for awhile until some friends came over to entertain me. Not a bad day, all told. My life's at a bit of a crossroads right now, and rather than pick a road, I think I'm probably just going to see how much ground I can cover on each of them. We'll see how it goes.

shoe porn, or: you only stalk the ones you love

So I've spent the last several months since these shoes hit the runway/days since these shoes hit stores obsessing pretty hard, pretty much like everyone else on Planet I Have Great Taste In Shoes. The Miu Miu boutique at Crystals keeps getting its opening pushed back (March 31st, then April 15th, now this coming Monday. argh!) but in the mean time I've noticed that department stores are starting to stock them. So here's a bit of shoe porn that can also be used as a reference list for where to get yourself a pair! If you know of anywhere else online that stocks them, let me know. All pictures click through to where you can buy. The clogs and the printed shoes are my favorite, so I've only linked to those; a few other places have the unprinted Mary Janes.

but also available in stores at Nordstrom - if yours doesn't have them, they should be able to transfer a pair from another store to you

I haven't seen too many people who aren't working in fashion pick these up yet, I hope more bloggers get them! Always fun to see how people style things outside of editorials and jak&jil. I also have yet to find them in stock ANYWHERE in my size, at least in terms of brick and mortar stores where I can try them on. Which is why I'll be leaping all over the existence of the Miu Miu boutique here once it FINALLY opens. Counting down the days, seriously.

Hope you all got some use/enjoyment out of this post!

still I lose myself in you

Goodness, I've had a busy last several days...another almost-week in LA, then back here for two days packed full of work and life obligations, then I leave tomorrow to spend the weekend in Chicago. But at least I've gotten everything done, so I can enjoy the city without troubling myself over things I have to do. Productivity, man! Apparently it is its own reward.

Or possibly this sweet as hell weather is my reward? (Or, possibly, it's just the naturally changing seasons.) Of course I'm heading out just as soon as it gets to be dress weather, but Chicago should be pretty nice. I've only been there a few times, and never for such a long trip - I'll be there Thursday night to Tuesday morning. Stoked. Any shops I should make it a point to visit while I'm there?

Anyway, here are a few dresses and a kitty cat. First set of pictures taken by Jessa in LA.

And then this lime green dress, which perked up my day of working all morning, then getting my taxes done and running to the courthouse.
